I was quite happy with the work they recently did for me on a set of pistons. I am commenting on a very old post here, but thought I would weigh in. If new headers are in the works, you might consider installing them first like we did to check fitment in case there may be some modifications required before you have them coated. Most of the processes are proprietary and differ chiefly in the form in which material is fed into the heat source.

ROKIDE® coated surfaces can be ground to excellent surface finishes. The PS-PVD rig, which is currently a research and development facility, uses a state of the art processing method of creating thin ceramic coatings. When we coated the tanks with SUPER THERM ®, we stopped practically 100% of the evaporation due to heat build up on the tank. The Fraunhofer-Institute process consists of mixing metal powders with a foaming agent, densely compacting the mixture, followed by sintering to obtain the final foam product.
