Salmon (a Scotchman who came to this country in 1878). Underread and underrated, Brown’s vibrant imagery and nimble storytelling elevates The Los Angeles Diaries into a league all its own. Yet I do have my reservations about this book, though I admit I’m no biblical scholar. Her introduction alone, is sure to leave readers drowning in tears and, if not already, in awe of Tupac. Her letters, held at the Warwick County Record Office and ably gathered and edited by Andrew and Nicola Hallam, give us an insight into her ambitions, emotions and decisions, leaving this reviewer educated and admiring. Characteristics: Students are nearing the end of their 2nd grade year of school.
